シドニーの国際交流基金（Japan Foundation)の主催で、2日間、落語の公演をさせていただきました。落語セミナーも予定されていましたが、密になり、新型コロナウイルス感染の恐れがあるので中止。公演は2日間ともフルハウスで、楽しんでいただけたと思います。シドニー大学で上方落語を研究しているMatthew Shores先生、明治期のイギリス人落語家、快楽亭ブラックことHenry Blackの伝記を書いたIan McArthur氏が会場に来てくれました。

Two rakugo performance were held under the auspices of the Japan Foundation in Sydney. A Rakugo seminar was also planned, but it was canceled because it became dense and there was a risk of infection with the new coronavirus. The performance was a full house for both days, and I hope audience enjoyed this event. Dr. Matthew Shores, who studies Kamigata Rakugo at the University of Sydney, and Mr. Ian McArthur, who wrote the biography of Henry Black, an English Rakugoka from the Meiji era, came to the venue.
